Thymosin Alpha-1 (Tα1) is a 28-amino-acid peptide derived from prothymosin alpha, originally isolated from thymus tissue. It is one of the most studied immunomodulatory peptides, with clinical use in several countries for immune restoration, hepatitis, sepsis and as a vaccine adjuvant.

Modulates innate and adaptive immunity by promoting T-cell differentiation and maturation, enhancing dendritic-cell and natural-killer-cell activity, and normalising cytokine balance. Also upregulates toll-like receptor expression and supports Th1-polarised immune responses.
Common research protocols use 1.6mg subcutaneously twice weekly, or 1mg daily for short immune-support courses. Cycles typically run 4–12 weeks, with breaks between courses. Subcutaneous administration in the abdomen or thigh is standard.
Plasma half-life approx. 2 hours; immunomodulatory effects persist for days through downstream cell signalling.
Reconstitute a 5mg vial with 2–3mL bacteriostatic water for a 1.6–2.5mg/mL working concentration. Swirl gently.
Lyophilised: 2–8°C, stable 18–24 months. Reconstituted: 2–8°C, protect from light, use within 28 days.
